Development studies explore the possibility of optimum use of the resources and earning avenues for the people. Accordingly, the School aims at the Welfare of the Nation through suggestive modules of Economic growth, based upon empirical studies in the areas of agriculture, land reforms, agrarian structure, Self employment, and wage employment, etc. and provide feed backs to development planning.

The Role of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the programme as the harbinger of Rural Development - A Study in Andhra Pradesh State is being taken up by School of Development Studies. The main objectives of the study are to examine the number of days of employment created and income generated in helping the poor people in alleviating in rural Andhra Pradesh.
